West Ham should play behind closed doors at the former Olympic Stadium if the violent scenes of Wednesday nights derby with Chelsea are repeated, an MP has said. The Football Association has launched an investigation into the violence which marred West Hams impressive 2-1 win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup fourth round.Police made seven arrests after skirmishes broke out towards the end of the stadiums first London derby as police and stewards battled to maintain segregation behind the goal being defended by West Ham. Dr Geoff Pearson, a lecturer of Senior Criminal Law, believes more could have been done to prevent the scenes at the London Stadium Coins, seats and other objects appeared to be thrown between rival supporters, with the Hammers and Chelsea condemning the unsavoury scenes which are now under investigation by the FA.West Ham vowed to ban for life any perpetrators identified, while Chelsea have a history of taking the sternest available action on incidents of violence. The Metropolitan Police added that antisocial behaviour legislation was utilised prior to the match to order 30 people to disperse. The Football Association will formally investigate incidents in Wednesdays game between West Ham and Chelsea Mark Field, vice-chairman of the all-party parliamentary football group and Cities of London and Westminster Conservative MP, says preventing future disorder must be addressed as a matter of urgency.Field said in the London Evening Standard: Within the next 14 days, the board of West Ham United FC should present a detailed plan to the FA and Premier League outlining what they are going to do about security. A lone supporter breaches a segregated area None of these problems were unforeseeable, given the nature of the stadium and difficulties with policing large footballing crowds. There have been some clear failings and they now need to move with urgency to deliver a plan about segregation and broader public order issues. Former West Ham defender Stuart Pearce says the blame lies with the fans If there is a repeat of the violence, the next two or three home games for West Ham should be played behind closed doors.Sports Minister Tracey Crouch added: No-one wants to see a return to the dark days of the late 70s and 80s.It is completely right that strong action is taken and that anyone involved in last nights trouble is banned for life.West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady on Thursday reinforced the clubs tough stance, posting on Twitter: Fantastic result last night. The team were exceptional and atmosphere electric. Shame that a few marred the occasion.West Ham and London Stadium have today been identifying all of them and we will be issuing banning orders.Football doesnt want these people and with over 55,000 supporters on our season ticket waiting list we certainly dont need them at West Ham. PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Keith Butler only wishes he was brilliant enough to explain how a defense that struggled to get to the quarterback for two months seemed to have little trouble last Sunday in Cleveland. The same group that managed all of 13 sacks through nine games piled up eight in four dominant quarters against the inept Browns. And heres the thing, Butler figures the number should have been closer to a dozen. So what was it? Scheme? A return to the teams Blitzburgh roots? Savvy coaching? Butler wishes he could take the credit. He cant.If I knew that Id do it every week, Butler said Tuesday. We got after `em a little bit, but at the same time we executed better.Playing the NFLs worst team helped. Yet the Steelers (5-5) believe theres a little more to it. Butler moved defensive end Stephon Tuitt up and down the defensive line, rarely putting him in the same spot on consecutive snaps.Inside linebacker Ryan Shazier was given more freedom to get into the backfield -- sometimes lining up on the outside in search of a mismatch -- and Butler even allowed rookie safety Sean Davis to cause havoc. And Pittsburgh did it with its best defensive player back home dealing with a torn pectoral muscle that ended his season.Watching instead of playing will take some getting used to for Cam Heyward, though hes adjusting to the role of head cheerleader rather quickly. After watching Tuitt pick up 2+ sacks and rookie nose tackle Javon Hargrave belly flopping on a fumble for a touchdown, Heyward issued a well-intentioned dare heading into Thursday nights visit to Indianapolis (5-5), where journeyman quarterback Scott Tolzien appears ready to fill in for the injured Andrew Luck.I challenged them to do it again this week, Heyward said. Now youve seen what you can do, lets keep it going. Lets keep accomplishing goals. The Steelers may have caught a break with Luck unlikely to play while going through the leagues concussion protocol. If Luck sits, that means Tolzien will be the one playing behind an offensive line thats given up 35 sacks, the second-highest total in the NFL even with the mobile Luck under center.Weve had our issues in the past as far as sacks aand pressures and things like that, Colts coach Chuck Pagano said.ddddddddddddTheyve got a great unit and a great defense coming. We all saw what they did against the Browns and what theyre capable of.And thats kind of been the problem this season for the Steelers, who piled up 48 sacks during Butlers first year as coordinator in 2015, but have failed to create any consistent kind of havoc in the pocket so far in 2016.Initially Butler opted to play it safe while incorporating a slew of new faces into the lineup.Yet even when he started to mix it up in later weeks -- particularly during a four-game losing streak that took all the momentum out of Pittsburghs 4-1 start -- plays that were out there to be made were not.My thing with them is just do your job (and) stop trying to do someone elses job, Butler said. Thats usually what happens when you have a breakdown is you try to overcompensate for what you think is a weakness in the defense instead of just doing your job.The tape from Cleveland showed the message may finally be getting through. Its definitely a game we can build on, Shazier said. We understand we take care of our responsibilities then everything will be taken care of. Guys understand if we do our job, the plays coming our way are going to happen instead of trying to force something.Tolzien hasnt taken a meaningful snap since subbing for Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay in 2013. While Pagano stressed Tolzien knows the Indianapolis offense inside and out, he also hasnt been hit when it matters for three years.A little chaos may go a long way for the Steelers as they try to go on another second-half run similar to the ones that carried them to the postseason in 2014 and 2015.We know were capable of more, Davis said. Its just about staying aggressive and paying attention to details.Game notes WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) and RB DeAngelo Williams (knee) are likely out. ... S Jordan Dangerfield (groin) and TE Xavier Grimble (quadriceps) were limited on Tuesday.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
